Sales Executive, Pharma and Industrial Accounts – West Coast

The Assignment…

The high-performance Sales Executive will manage business, identify, pursue, and close new opportunities within his/her territory. Strong technical knowledge of Next-Generation Targeted Sequencing and clinical as well as the ability to demonstrate technical credibility to influence key decisions on technology and product choices. Strong business acumen is required to build successful account and territory plans and translate territory strategy into business results. Candidate will have a strong history of account relationships with key thought leaders in the translational research and clinical development space.  Must be able to communicate technical information on single cell technologies to a sophisticated audience and identify and propose solutions to the customer base regarding the implementation of these technologies. The territory is comprised of pharma/industrial accounts on the West coast.

The Specifics…

Demonstrate technical acumen to consult with customers on technology solutions

  • Expand biopharma business with value-based strategic selling by building the business case for adopting precision biomarkers in clinical development
  • Develop and manage a business plan to meet/exceed business goals
  • Develop and maintain strategic account plans, and provide accurate forecasts and reports of sales activity entering data into
  • Demonstrate funnel management skills with strong account management and closing skills
  • Territory Key Account Planning, market knowledge, competitive positioning
  • Understand scientific project needs and business needs of the customer to win the business
  • Develop and maintain current knowledge of genetic analysis markets, products, and buying practices necessary to effectively compete in the territory
  • Utilize product and application knowledge to successfully conduct selling presentations

What’s Asked of You…

  • Minimum of 8 years sales experience in life science research with an emphasis on selling genomics solutions to translational and clinical biomarker groups and solid understanding of pharma drug discovery and development workflows
  • Experience structuring and negotiating various types of agreements and contracts with complicated stakeholders across all levels of the organization in pharma, biotech and CROs
  • Minimum of B.S. Degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related field
  • Proven track record winning business and establishing long term high level customer relationships
  • Excellent sales skills, including prospecting, negotiating, listening, and closing
  • Knowledge of Next Gen Sequencing
  • Must be willing to travel up to 70%
