John Teare, PhD

John Teare has over 30 years of experience in life sciences instruments and reagents, nucleic acid diagnostics, and biotherapeutics. John started his career at Chiron Corporation, working in analytical development for Betaseron. He has led product development efforts across a variety of leading companies in life sciences and biopharma, including Hoefer Pharmacia Biotech, Bayer Diagnostics, Applied Biosystems, Celera Diagnostics, Cell Biosciences, Genomic Health, Bayer HealthCare, Bayer Consumer Care AG, GLAdiator Biosciences, and Coagulant Therapeutics Corporation. Products commercialized include DyNA Quant™, ImageMaster VDS, Versant® bDNA IVD (HIV RNA v3.0, HBV, HCV), BigDye™ Terminator, Oncotype Dx, Kovaltry®, and Jivi®.  John received his undergraduate degree in Microbiology from the University of Alabama, his PhD in Biochemistry from St Louis University Medical School, and post-doctoral training from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.
