Speaker Bio:
Dr. Bruno Paiva is responsible for the Flow Cytometry Laboratory and is the Co-Coordinator of the Center for Applied Medical Research (CIMA) LAB diagnostics. He joined CIMA in 2013 and his research interests lie in multiparameter flow cytometry for malignant hemopathies, such as multiple myeloma, Waldenstrom’s macroglobulinemia and primary systemic amyloidosis. Dr Paiva obtained his Doctorate from the Medical School of the University of Salamanca, Salamanca, Spain, where he also taught on the Doctoral Program in Biology and Cancer between 2012 and 2013. He has been awarded the prestigious Bart Barlogie Young Investigator Award and has been the lead investigator for studies of next-generation flow (NGF) and sequencing.
Gema Fuerte is a Field Application Scientist at Mission Bio. She obtained her Masters degree in Biology and Cancer Clinics at University of Salamanca. Before joining Mission Bio in 2019, she worked at Partek as European Account Manager in Bioinformatics, and at Affymetrix as a Support Clinical Specialist in Oncology and Reproductive health supporting customers across Europe Middle East and Africa between 2013-2016.
